15 Minutes of Misery

15 Minutes of Misery was the first series by Sean Lock which went on to be known as 15 Storeys High for the second show, and the later and more popular television series.

Episode 1

Set in a tower block, Sean describes the estate on which he lives by way of a rigged up microphone system called the Bugger King which allows him to listen in on other flats. He is interrupted by forgotten acquaintance Sven, before friend Nazi Cyril turns up demanding money for completing a sponsored run. Sean escapes leaving Sven having to deal with an angry Cyril.

Episode 2

Describing the production of jam going on in the flats, Sean is continuing to bug other apartments where he discovers a neighbours high-pitched voice, a couple both looking for their glasses, and complaints about cooking macaroni cheese. He also causes some emotional damage by rejecting his neighbour Coco and contemplates the nature of relationships though regrets it when neighbour Bob comes around.

Episode 3

Sean is dealing with the vast number of charity collections he keeps getting while Hot Bob the plumber is working in the flat, and takes to asking for a donation himself with his van needing a new fan belt. He also has to handle neighbour Darren who is overly-cautious about everything and takes to bothering Sean who gets him taken away by the police.

Episode 4

Converting the flat into a bed and breakfast named Elderberry Cottage to benefit from the tourist boom, Sean's first guests are two American visitors who are looking for some destinations to visit. Sean quickly upsets them with his suggestion of them sleeping on the couch and using the curtains to dry their hands, resulting in the pair leaving fairly quickly.

Episode 5

Bob is getting fed up with plumbing and leaves Sean without heating, resorting to him having to find a new plumber who has some strange habits and refers to himself as a "faith plumber". The flats also has bunch of a crowd members from Top of the Pops who eventually get fired when the show is cancelled as Sean's plumber takes to drink and drugs.

Episode 6

Plumber Bob has returned as Sean considers getting rid of cable television due to their being nothing on, though Bob tries to persuade him of the interesting documentaries that are on. He also sets about tidying the flat up as Linda visits him after some time where she takes to questioning him about his background, before propositioning him to get her pregnant.
