Arrested Development
Episode 1
Groom Dave is taking forever in the toilet much to the annoyance of best man Bob, while bride Penny struggles with her hair as sister Kate tries to keep a lid on things. Dave also makes a confession that he slept with a woman named Charlene who is returning to Australia, though insists the wedding will go ahead. Penny and Kate's unrealiable mother Sue turns up at the flat as they prepare to head to the church. The ceremony goes off without a hitch while at the evening dance Bob tries to get back with ex-wife Kate who initially repels his advances though begins to succumb to his charms as the night wears on. As Dave continues to ponder his situation, he decides to head to the airport to catch Charlene before she leaves with news soon reaching Penny that she has been dumped.
Episode 2
Penny continues to feel miserable as Kate struggles to improve her mood, which is made worse by a visit from her mother. Kate meanwhile heads to see Bob who also has his own problems remaining as he fails to get over his relationship being over, with Kate questioning his decision to put up a picture of their wedding in his dingy flat, as he also posits the idea of a female flatmate. Kate also has her own issues as she tries to get her builder to put a new roof on her house. Penny ponders to Kate whether she is about to move back in with Bob and suggests her denial is a sign. Kate also has to put up with her mother trying to persuade her to take time off to look after Penny, as Kate sets about being brutally honest about the state of her appearance as she looks forward to moving back into her own house, which is accidentally demolised by the builder.
Episode 3
Bob arrives at the police station to talk to Penny who is working the reception desk with news of Dave's new girlfriend and to produce a police training video. Kate meanwhile is still furious at the condition of her house as Penny struggles to cope with her living in the flat as she seeks a night alone for a break. After arriving home from participating in Dave's film shoot by way of a provocative uniform, Penny has a substantial number of answer phone messages left for her as she tries to encourage Kate to take one of them up on their offers of a date. Penny meanwhile has her own work problems as she believes that no one takes her seriously as she also contemplates attempting her eighth go at the sergeants exams, and lands herself in trouble with Kate when she tries to seduce builder Andy.
Episode 4
Kate is still barely talking to Penny for her kissing of builder Andy while Dave finds that Charlene's parents are wealthy making it easier to continue the relationship in Australia. Attempting to persuade Bob to pay him a visit, Bob has plans to try to persuade Kate to move back in with the offer of a place to stay in his flat. Andy attempts to make amends for the destruction of Kate's cottage with the suggestion of future improvements in the new build, though her ideas pose problems when she discovers he is not insured. Penny sets about finally going through the items left behind by Dave and moving on with her life with a night down the social club with Joy, as Bob has big plans when he attempts to propose to Kate though she promptly rejects him before leaving the door open to another chance given time.
