The Brothers
Series 1
Episode 1
Brothers Nigel and Michael have given up their respectable careers to setup a web design company with a contract coming in for a medical injury therapy company specialising in the groin. Working to a tight schedule which promises long hours for the next week, Nigel is hoping to be finished for the weekend before his wife Steph returns home after three months away in America. The pair however have to cope with interruptions from Steph's friend Oona who comes round to complain despite Steph not being around, along with impersonal acquaintance Zorro who is the complete opposite of Oona. The 'Friends of the Lile', a strange clog-wearing group, take to following Nigel home in the hope of getting him to sign up with them while Michael contemplates faking gayness to improve his love life. Nigel gets some disappointing news about Steph while Michae's date also fails to go as planned.
Episode 2
The pair review a new website - Friends Uninvited - who are targeting people who have few friends and are generally unliked though their technical problems leads to Nigel and Michael looking at their issues. However, Zorro turns up which bothers Nigel as his loneliness has him describing every minute part of his life including his need to go atlas shopping. The situation has both Nigel and Michael yearning for former work lives in the office which is made worse by Oona turning up to reveal that her infatuation with the sales assistant in Ryman's is over when she discovers she went to school with his mother. Instead, she decides on focusing her effort in life to being a psychotherapist while they are bothered again by a return visit from Zorro with his new atlas, who manages to make friends with Oona's 'patient' Sally Treadwell who is going through a tough time.
Episode 3
Work is continuing on a tropical fish aquarium website leaving Michael free to attempt to Lorraine at the video rental shop who he hopes to take to see Chicago at the theatre, though he fails to heed Nigel's suggestion that there will be none available for Saturday night. However, unable to get them due to them being sold out, his attempt to take her to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang fails leaving him questioning whether he will ever find a woman. Zorro also turns down the tickets due to his uneasiness regarding the Dutch due to Dick van Dyke's name while Oona also arrives at the flat where discussion moves on to some cuff links, previously owned by John Travolta, which she is planning to give to an orchid hunter. Michael resorts to browsing the internet chasing the dream of a woman from another country.
Episode 4
The brothers have been working on a website aimed at everything countryside, though the week has been tough with Nigel on edge as the neighbouring flat has been having work done. Michael also doesn't help matters by turning up until almost midday after his alarm clock breaks. Attempting to work between drilling sessions, the pair also have to contend with Oona and her incessant talking as Zorro also goes on to take an interest in the broken clock, with the pair managing to take him into taking it back to the shop. Oona also takes to sleeping with the bathroom fitter as a way to interrupt his drilling. Zorro meanwhile take to pretending to be Michael in his efforts to get the clock replaced, which sees him given some tickets to see Van Morrison in return, prompting a three-way argument between Michael, Zorro, and Oona about who should use them.
