The Living Doll

Annabelle is at a department store with her daughter Christie who picks up a wind-up doll named 'Talky Tina'. Purchasing it for her, her new husband Erich is less than keen on the doll, in part caused by his hostility towards Christie who he somewhat resents through his own inability to have children. While in the house, Talky Tina begins to speak more elaborately, which leads Erich to feel threatened by the doll which specifically begins to target him. Setting about getting rid of it despite the protestations of Christie, the doll begins to make his life misery before exacting revenge on his attempts to dispose and destroy it.<

The Big Tall Wish

Young child Henry is watching television where he discovers that boxer and neighbour Bolie Jackson is planning on making a comeback to the sport despite being considered too old by many. Henry heads over to see him and offers his encouragement and makes a wish that Bolie wins his bout. Despite this, Bolie is contemplative of his prospects and things are made worse when he finds his manager has bet against him. Setting about trying to win for Henry, Bolie heads to the ring to meet with fate.

The Fever

A couple win a three-day vacation to Las Vegas. Franklin detests gambling though his wife Flora is keen to go. Flora finds a nickel on the casino floor and puts it into a slot machine, while Franklin is also given a coin by a drunk man. When he ends up winning, he sets about keeping the money paid out. However, attempting to leave the casino, Franklin begins to believe that the machines are calling out to him.

The Last Night of a Jockey

Horse racing jockey Grady is being chased for answers by a journalist who wants to talk about allegations of doping. The situation results in him spending his time drinking. He begins to argue with a voice as he tries to justify his life choices, with his alter-ego offering him a chance to change his life with one wish. Deciding on being taller, he wakes up the following morning to discover that his wish has been granted and he now stands at almost eight feet tall - and still growing.

A Thing About Machines

Il-tempered gourmet magazine critic Bartlett Finchley begins to have trouble with his appliances which seem to have a mind of their own. His angry nature has him damage his television, while his typist becomes irritated by his attitude resulting in her eventually storming out. His car also begins to drive itself resulting in more anger, while his attempts to take him mind off things by coming on to numerous women see him more alone than ever except for his appliances.

Mirror Image

Millicent Barnes is awaiting the bus to take her to Cortland where she will start a new job. As the bus is running late, she begins to experience strange occurrences with the people she is talking to, as they believe she is repeatedly asking for or doing things despite not having done so. Continuing to wait for the bus, Millicent believes she is going mad and talks with fellow passenger Paul Grinstead who beiieves it to be some kind of joke being played on her, until he sees the odd occurrence for himself.

The 7th Is Made Up of Phantoms

An army group are out on training missions and encounter the sound of rifle gunshots as well as noises believed to have been made by Indians. They also spot a wigwam, but find it empty. They soon find they are at the location where Custer and his army fought the U.S. Army in their last stand. The source of the noises however can not be found, though they set about following the route Custer took with events where they find themselves contemplating whether they have gone back in time.

The Long Morrow

Commander Douglas Stansfield is selected as the astronaut to undergo a lone exploratory mission to a distant planetary system, which he will reach by travelling at the speed of light. The trip will have him placed in suspended animation, which will prevent him aging during the forty year trip. Shortly before leaving he meets and falls in love with Sandra, and decides during his trip to remove himself from suspended animation to age along with her, so that the pair can be reunited when he returns to Earth.

Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?

During bad weather, state troopers Perry and Padgett are called to investigate a report of an unidentified flying object crashing. Discovering evidence of a crash into a lake, the pair find footprints in the heavy snow leading a nearby diner called the Hi-way. Heading to the diner, they find a number of patrons and staff who have taken shelter due to the snow conditions, including a coach party with their driver. The officers reveal the information they have and set about finding who amongst the crowd are not from this planet.

The Trade-Ins

An elderly married couple, John and Martha Holt, are struggling with their advanced age. They spot an advertisement which specialises in trading in elderly bodies for those of younger beings, and set about consulting with company adviser Mr Vance. The couple discover however that they only have enough money for one of them to undergo the procedure. With John in the worse condition of the two, he eventually relents and decides to go through with the operation in the hope of raising money for Martha's, though the situation puts an enormous strain on their life.
